I love this so much! Are the hands symbolizing her reputation as scapegoat, the bad things that flew out the box, or possibly the inevitability of it opening/her fate?Or instead of dragging her down on purpose but with that destructive mob mentality, are they reaching towards the butterflies/hope to gain color/life like Pandora?
Sorry if I'm reading into too much, it's just beautiful. I adore art that can have so many interpretations like this. You're great!
What I like the most about this picture is the butterflies. When I learned about this myth in class, our teacher said that although Pandora unleashed all of the bad things into the world, she closed the box it in time to keep one thing with her: hope. It makes the piece just as interesting because it seems like although she's being pulled down by the "bad things", she still has that hope (aka the blue butterflies).
Sorry for writing such a long comment. XD This piece is so beautiful, and it just really inspiring. lol
